Business Experience

Jim Edwards, Executive Director of the New Hope for America Foundation, spent most of his career in the home furnishings industry as an independent business development consultant, manufacturers representative, general manager, operations manager and district manager. He also owned his own retail home furnishings store.

Edwards experienced the deterioration of the furniture industry in America as China trade policies as well as US trade agreements forced American furniture manufacturers to outsource and offshore in order to compete.

His altruistic desire to be a part of something worthwhile for America inspired him to pursue the ideals and goals of the New Hope for America Foundation, whose mission is:

"to empower individuals and organizations to contribute to our nation's freedom, sovereignty, economic strength and national security".

Government

Past Mayor of Sycamore, Illinois

Several years ago, as mayor of a small city in the Midwest, Edwards experienced how newly elected officials often are driven by egocentric behavior that does not result in good debate and good decision making by the elected body. see "newly elected officials"

This inspired him to develop an awareness and team building DVD presentation for the newly elected official to help them get back on track as a public "servant" and new member of the "team" in order to prevent waisted time, waisted money and unproductive positionality.
